IRVINE, California, April 21, 2014 – McDermott & Bull, a premier Southern California-based retained executive search firm, announced today the successful appointment of Mr. Kevin Bates as Director of Marketing with JWC Environmental, located in Costa Mesa, California.
This executive recruiting engagement was conducted by McDermott & Bull’s Private Equity Practice Co-Chairs, Chris Bull and Brandon Biegenzahn. According to Mr. Biegenzahn, “Kevin’s background and education as an engineer coupled with his decade of experience as a product manager and marketer in the industrial space, position him well to drive JWC’s go forward strategy as it eyes growth in different verticals applying its best-in-class technology.”
Mr. Bates is a highly accomplished leader and business professional with twenty years of progressive and diversified experience in areas of marketing, sales, engineering and operations across multiple industrial markets. He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of new product development, product line management, product life cycle management and sales strategy. Prior to his placement with JWC Environmental, Mr. Bates worked with MMFX Technologies, as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He has also worked with Boart Longyear, Barksdale Control Products, and General Motors.
Mr. Bates has served in a leadership development role with the Center for Creative Learning. In addition to his scholastic endeavors, Mr. Bates has several professional certifications which include Six Sigma Certified Green Belt, Lean Equity Design, Kaizan, Kanban and 5S training, and QS/ISO 9000 Internal Auditor training.
Mr. Bates earned his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of California, Irvine. His Masters of Business Administration was received from Pepperdine University.
