McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Dave Fraser as Chief Executive Officer at Nelson Lumber. Dave will develop and lead the executive team, drive Nelson Lumber’s strategic direction, and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and growth. His responsibilities include shaping the organization’s future direction, making critical business decisions, and creating a positive work environment to attract top talent and drive sustainable success.
Dave is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the building materials, construction, and industrial manufacturing industries. Most recently, he served as President & CEO of FPI Regency Fireplace Products International, where he developed and implemented a company strategy that significantly enhanced safety performance, product development, and market competitiveness. Prior to that, Dave held leadership roles at Door Systems (ASSA ABLOY) and Creative Door Services, where he drove geographic expansion, operational transformation, and strategic growth initiatives.
Established in 1949, Nelson Lumber is a leading supplier of building materials, including manufactured roof trusses, wall panels, and floor joists, with operations spanning Central and Northern Alberta. The company, backed by private equity firm KV Capital, manufactures ready-to-move and prefabricated homes under the Nelson Homes brand and boasts an extensive dealer network across Western Canada and the Western United States.
