Richmond Hospital Foundation’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for donors to achieve their aspirational philanthropic goals while helping drive positive, transformational change to local health care in Richmond. Inspiring joyful giving is at the core of their promise and guides all of the work they do. It is also integral to the Foundation’s fundraising strategy and goal of building strong, trusting relationships with donors, clearly demonstrating the impact of their philanthropy.

An opportunity now exists to join the Richmond Hospital Foundation as it enters one of the most exciting and high-impact chapters in its history. With the Richmond Hospital redevelopment and Phase 2 of the new Yurkovich Family Pavilion already underway, RHF is thinking boldly about how philanthropy can help move ideas into reality more quickly. This entrepreneurial spirit is already showing up in practical ways.  The expansion of the diagnostic day-procedures program, for example, will significantly increase annual procedure capacity ahead of the new pavilion, while future-facing opportunities such as surgical robotics would enable Richmond’s health care teams to deliver more sophisticated services locally. Together, these efforts position the Foundation, the hospital, Vancouver Coastal Health, and physicians to enhance patient care and improve the experience and outcomes well before the full redevelopment is complete.

Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Director, Leadership Philanthropy will be responsible for securing major gift donations, developing clear donor strategies and plans to strengthen the major gift pipeline, ensuring alignment with RHF’s priorities and long-term organizational goals. This role also contributes to donor relations and marketing and communications efforts to ensure a seamless and compelling donor experience.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Philanthropy, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline, and/or professional certification (e.g. CFRE), a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in major gifts fundraising, donor relations or related fields within the nonprofit sector. The salary range for this role is $120,000.00 t0 $140,000.00 annually.

RHF is looking for people who are motivated by more than career advancement or fundraising mechanics. This work calls for a genuine connection to health care, to community, and to the idea of affecting change at a local level. For the right leader, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of health care in a community where philanthropic strategy can translate quickly into visible, tangible change.
