McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Derek Coppinger as the Chief Executive Officer of Raptor Scientific.

Raptor Scientific, which was formed after L Squared Capital Partners’ acquisition of Space Electronics, is a company that specializes in consolidating the highly fragmented Aerospace + Defense focused testing and measurement market. L Squared Capital Partners is bringing in a new CEO to spearhead this effort of acquiring more companies in this space and integrating them into Raptor’s platform.

Derek Coppinger is an industry veteran with significant experience executing and integrating strategic acquisitions in the Aerospace + Defense focused testing and measurement industry. He previously served as Vice President at Newcastle Systems, a member of the Board at ESC Lab Sciences, Chairman of the Board at ACIL, and earlier as COO of National Technical Systems.

Raptor Scientific was founded in 2019 by L Squared Capital Partners and backed with a $60M equity commitment to consolidate the highly fragmented Aerospace + Defense focused testing and measurement market. The company completed its first acquisition of Space Electronics in September 2019 and Space Electronics will now serve as the de facto headquarters in Berlin, Connecticut.
