McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Dr. Janet Welch as Vice President, Academic at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). In her new role, Janet will build on SAIT’s commitment to ensure programs continue to be of high quality, meet the diverse needs of learners and industries, and are aligned with SAIT’s vision of being a global leader in applied education.

For over 30 years, Janet has focused her career on student success in a postsecondary environment that aligns with industries’ current and emerging needs. Most recently, she served as Interim and Associate Vice President, Academic at SAIT. Prior to joining SAIT, Janet served as the Vice President, Academic and Student Services at Yukon University. Having also worked at Lethbridge College and the University of Alberta, Janet has the experience and passion needed to ensure students at SAIT thrive.
