McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Dr. David Danto as Dean, Faculty of Health and Community Studies at MacEwan University. In this new role, David will work with faculty, staff, and university members to develop innovative new certificates, diplomas, and degrees to ensure graduates are competitive and relevant, differentiating the Faculty of Health and Community Studies’ unique program offerings in a competitive landscape. Through these efforts, the faculty will continue to build on MacEwan’s excellent reputation for providing exceptional undergraduate learning opportunities and creating job-ready graduates prepared to engage fully with the economic and social challenges of a changing world.
Before joining MacEwan University, David spent 11 years working with the University of Guelph-Humber as the Program Head, Psychology. He significantly expanded student scholarship opportunities, both nationally and internationally. With his passion and research exploring Indigenous mental health, David brought Indigenization of the curriculum to the fore on campus and increased the academic rigour of the psychology program while expanding their program offerings.
