McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Samantha Conlan as Chief Development Officer at CAMBA. In this role, Samantha will lead the organization’s development, grants, and communications strategy and partner closely with the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team to support CAMBA’s continued growth and impact. She will be responsible for advancing fundraising strategy, expanding individual, foundation, and corporate giving, increasing unrestricted funding, strengthening donor and Board engagement, and overseeing communications and brand positioning while leading the Development, Grants, and Communications team.
Samantha brings over two decades of fundraising, communications, and nonprofit leadership experience across New York-based nonprofit and cultural organizations. Most recently, she served as Chief Development and Communications Officer at HELP USA, where she led fundraising, marketing, communications, advocacy, and external relations for the $200 million housing and homelessness services organization. During her tenure, she built a comprehensive advancement strategy that grew private philanthropy from approximately $300,000 in primarily event-based revenue to approximately $3–4 million annually. Prior to that, Samantha served as Vice President of Institutional Giving at the Museum of Arts and Design, where she managed a $5 million fundraising goal and oversaw giving across major gifts, foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other donor groups. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade with the New York Botanical Garden. Samantha earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Lafayette College.
