Jake Vander Zanden, Partner at McDermott + Bull and member of the Boardvance Board of Advisors, will moderate Boardvance’s upcoming Inside the Boardroom event, The Ally Advantage: How Male Leaders Shape Board Access, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Tangram Interiors in Newport Beach, California.
Boardvance is a board-readiness and leadership community focused on preparing accomplished women for board service and expanding access to board opportunities through education, connections, and engagement with experienced corporate leaders.
The conversation will feature Dr. Shawn Andrews, author of The 5 Levels of Male Allyship, and explore what meaningful allyship looks like when it moves beyond intention and into action. Dr. Andrews and Jake will discuss how sponsorship, advocacy, and access to influential networks can shape who is considered for leadership and board opportunities, as well as the role male leaders can play in creating pathways for more women to enter the boardroom.
The event will also mark the presentation of Boardvance’s inaugural Male Allyship Awards, recognizing leaders who are actively using their influence, relationships, and leadership to create opportunities for women.
