Jake started at McDermott + Bull in 2016 as a Managing Director and member of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice. Since then, his practice has become one of the fastest growing at the firm, contributing to the company’s overall success and expansion.

As Partner, he will continue to expand his practice and grow his team to address the growing, critical need for dynamic executive leadership in the life sciences space. Over the years, he built his practice from the ground up, enjoying tremendous growth and success throughout. As a trusted partner to companies including Avellino Labs, Sientra, and CathWorks to name a few, he has established a successful and well-respected brand in the industry.

Jake brings more than 25 years of experience as a senior operating executive for public and private companies across the entire spectrum of life sciences. Prior to McDermott + Bull, he served as a turnaround and growth leader at companies like Allergan, Medtronic, and more. This experience, paired with his current involvement in the life sciences community — where he serves on the leadership board of DeviceAlliance™, as a Growth Services Advisor for OCTANe, and as a judge for the annual OCTANe High Technology Awards Program — has forged valuable relationships in the industry. His work within the life sciences space has also given him a unique understanding of the dynamic needs and challenges client companies face.

Jake currently serves as an expert-in-residence at Applied Innovation and an MBA mentor for the Paul Merage School of Business, both at the University of California Irvine. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing and management from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
