McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Alex Coppersmith as the Chief Financial Officer of Sterno Group. Reporting to the CEO, Alex will act as a strategic thought partner and a key member of the leadership team, developing a strategic vision and ensuring tactical execution to support M+A and leverage new market opportunities. Having direct supervision over the finance and accounting function, he will oversee M+A due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and the monthly close process at the corporate level for all business units.
Alex is an experienced finance and accounting executive with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple cross-functional departments within constantly evolving industries and regulatory environments. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer at Fresh & Ready Foods, and started his career in public accounting at BDO, LLP before transitioning over to large, iconic brands such as Walt Disney, Sony Entertainment, and Universal Studios. He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Southern California and his master’s in finance and entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
