McDermott + Bull has successfully placed David Whitaker as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at General Atomics (GA). In this role, David will be responsible for all strategic and tactical technological solutions for the Tier 1 Defense Prime. He will oversee the entire information technology department, with direct responsibility over solutions and applications; infrastructure and operations; and cyber security and risk management. David began his career as an engineer before transitioning into IT at General Dynamics. Since then, he has served as CIO of several multibillion-dollar defense industry organizations. He most recently served as CIO of Sierra Space, where he led technology through their carve-out from Sierra Nevada Corporation.
