McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Dr. Claire Grogan as Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Vancouver Island University (VIU). In her new role, Dr. Grogan will provide strategic and innovative leadership while managing the academic, personnel, financial, and research activities of the Faculty. In collaboration with stakeholders across campus, she will work to implement and advance the university’s strategic plan and objectives, while implementing and advancing academic and other foundational plans.  Prior to joining VIU, Dr. Grogan was a full-time professor and former department chair in the department of English at Bishop’s University, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and served as its Associate Vice-Principal Academic: Faculty Relations. More recently, she was the Acting Vice-Principal Academic and Research also at Bishop’s University, in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Dr. Grogan has her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Oxford University and her Ph.D. from the University of Calgary.
