McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Michael Kennedy as Director, Health Sciences at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC). In this critical leadership role, Michael will oversee the strategic direction and operational delivery of JIBC’s Health Sciences Division. He will lead the evolution of paramedicine education programs, strengthen stakeholder partnerships across Canada, and ensure JIBC continues to provide best-in-class, culturally safe training that aligns with national accreditation standards and regulatory priorities.
Michael brings over two decades of progressive leadership experience in paramedicine, healthcare education, and clinical operations. Most recently, he served as Manager of Clinical Performance and Patient Safety at Ornge, where he led large teams, managed multi-million-dollar budgets, and implemented transformative quality and safety protocols across Ontario’s critical care transport system. Michael has also held leadership roles at Fanshawe College and Perth County Paramedic Services, where he demonstrated a passion for education, innovation, and public safety. He holds a Master of Public Administration (expected 2025) from Western University and multiple paramedic diplomas including Critical Care, Advanced Care, and Primary Care Paramedicine.
