McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Craig Gatarz as General Counsel at Veritone. As a key member of the executive team, serving as partner to Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Financial Officer, Craig will help build, manage, and lead the legal team to continue to support the company in changing the world of AI. As head of the department for the newly public company, he will be responsible for effectively scaling the organization’s legal function. He will also work cross-functionally to play a central role in guiding Veritone on a broad range of domestic and global legal matters as they continue to scale at record pace.
Craig is an experienced, results-driven operations and in-house legal executive with over 25 years of experience in corporate law in business and legal affairs. During this time, he served in rapid growth and other global industries like, mobile, entertainment and digital media, enterprise software, and consumer products. His expertise includes operations, strategic planning, international expansion and operations, corporate finance, M&A, and IPO process. He most recently served as EVP and General Counsel for Appetize Technologies and The Honest Company. He earned his bachelors degree in political science from Boston University and his J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law.
