McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Ron Goines as Managing Director of Development at Drug Policy Alliance. In this role, Ron will lead the organization’s national fundraising strategy, overseeing individual and institutional giving, donor engagement, board fundraising efforts, and development operations. He will partner closely with executive leadership to strengthen philanthropic strategy, diversify funding streams, and support the organization’s long-term growth and advocacy initiatives.
Ron brings over 15 years of nonprofit development and fundraising leadership experience across mission-driven organizations focused on civil rights, public health, advocacy, and social impact. Most recently, he served as Director of Resource Strategy and Development at The Movement for Black Lives, where he led charitable revenue efforts exceeding $25 million and spearheaded a $150 million fundraising campaign to support Black-led grassroots organizations. Earlier in his career, Ron held senior fundraising leadership roles with organizations including Planned Parenthood Southeast, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, LGBTQ Victory Fund, and AIDS Foundation Houston. Ron earned his Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Oberlin College, with minors in Economics and African American Studies.
