McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Steven Collins as Chief Financial Officer at South Coast Community Services. In this role, Steven will oversee the organization’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, revenue cycle management, and strategic planning. He will partner with executive leadership to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term growth.
Steven brings over 20 years of experience driving financial strategy, operational performance, and growth across hospitals, health systems, and behavioral healthcare providers. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer at Sonrava Health, where he oversaw accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and financial systems for a $1 billion multi-state healthcare organization. Prior to Sonrava Health, Steven held senior finance leadership roles with Beth Israel Lahey Health, Prospect Medical Holdings, Prime Healthcare, and Elements Behavioral Health, where he led enterprise-wide finance transformations, revenue cycle optimization, financial reporting enhancements, and large-scale system implementations. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade with BDO USA LLP and BDO UK LLP, providing audit and advisory services to healthcare organizations. Steven earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of York in the United Kingdom and is an active Certified Public Accountant in California.
Founded over 40 years ago, South Coast Community Services is one of California’s largest nonprofit providers of specialty mental health services, serving more than 5,000 children, adolescents, adults, and families annually across Orange and San Bernardino counties. Through a network of clinical locations and community-based programs, the organization delivers a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health services, including outpatient treatment, residential care, wraparound services, and crisis intervention. As SCCS continues to grow, it remains committed to expanding access to care and improving outcomes for the communities it serves.
