James Hickey

Senior Managing Director, Interim Leaders

James Hickey serves as a Senior Managing Director at McDermott + Bull Interim Leaders, based in Irvine, CA. James helps companies by placing mission-critical executives to address crucial business challenges. He works closely with private equity groups to help their portfolio companies when there are gaps in leadership or to provide additional support to the team during critical transactions.

James holds over 20 years of experience within private equity, working with companies on M+A activities, IPO process, and SEC compliance. Prior to joining McDermott + Bull, he served as a National Managing Partner at a large interim and retained search firm, concentrating on helping private equity firms improve operational performance and respective returns on investment of their portfolio companies. 

James grew up in Western Canada and now resides in Coto de Caza, CA with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and ice hockey.
