McDermott + Bull has placed Mike Althouse as Chief Compliance Officer at Green Dot Corporation. In this role, Mike will serve Green Dot’s chartered bank, along with the corporate parent. He will be a decision-making partner to Green Dot’s executive team and board and will provide critical input on the company’s compliance philosophy and strategic execution. 

Mike joins Green Dot from private-label banking and fintech firm, The Bancorp, where he served as the Chief Compliance Officer. In this role, he oversaw a compliance advisory team that partnered with the company’s multiple business lines, including consumer and commercial deposit and lending, private-label banking, prepaid card, institutional banking, leasing, and small business lending. Prior to The Bancorp, he served as the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for Barclays’ U.S. Consumer Bank and as the Head of U.S. Credit Compliance for PayPal. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a graduate of the Naval War College.
