McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Dave Blaker as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Universal Group. Based in Vancouver, B.C., Dave will provide leadership and guidance to the sales and marketing teams for the Universal Group across Canada.
Dave is an accomplished executive with over 25 years of diverse experience in operations, marketing, and sales with large, small, and medium-sized companies. He began his career in the sales team at Frito-Lay Canada and went on to hold a series of sales leadership and General Manager positions in a variety of industries. Most recently, he was with Grainger Canada where he led commercial sales across Western Canada and was the recipient of numerous company recognition awards.
The Universal Group is headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. and is an industry leader in traffic control services, traffic management planning, traffic equipment supply, landscaping, temporary labour, and occupational health and safety training. Core to their mission is providing clients with peace of mind that their people and the community at large will be safe as they deliver projects. The company’s long-term goal is to create the first truly national organization in the traffic control sector.
