Sachin Sama

Sachin Sama serves as a Partner at McDermott + Bull and is part of the firm’s Energy + Industrials Practice. He specializes in retained executive search for leaders across U.S. Utilities and Independent Power Producers, with a focus on the executives responsible for operating, modernizing, and supporting critical power infrastructure. His work spans generation, transmission, distribution, system operations, engineering and construction, capital projects, and enterprise support functions.
Sachin has over two decades of recruitment experience, with the past seven years focused exclusively on executive search. He has delivered senior leadership solutions across Energy, Industrials, and Consumer Markets, with a particular focus on complex, multi-divisional organizations. His career in recruitment began in contingent search and RPO before moving into senior-level executive search, a foundation that shapes his consultative approach and his ability to understand the nuanced talent and organizational challenges his clients face. Prior to recruitment, Sachin started his career as a process engineer, giving him a firsthand understanding of the operational environments his clients navigate, where technical complexity and leadership demands intersect.
Sachin grew up in Northern Ireland and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dundee, graduating with First Class Honours.
