McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Katie Pizzone as Director of Philanthropy at Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF). In her new role, Katie will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors while supporting the Chief Philanthropy Officer in growing and strengthening the major gifts program. She will be an integral part of the development team and manage a portfolio of philanthropists supporting ADDF’s mission, ultimately helping the organization achieve and surpass fundraising goals on an annual basis.

Prior to joining ADDF, Katie served as Director of Service Line Fundraising as well as Major Gifts Officer at the Hospital for Special Surgery, leading a team that was responsible for raising over $6 million in 2021. She has also served in development roles with Student Sponsor Partners, St. Mary’s High School, and The Partnership for Inner City Education. She earned a B.A. in Asian studies from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Founded in 1998 by Co-Chairmen Leonard A. Lauder and Ronald S. Lauder, the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation is a vibrant, growing venture philanthropy foundation, which funds academic institutions and biotechnology companies conducting breakthrough drug discovery and clinical research. Through the generosity of its donors, the ADDF has awarded more than $209 million to fund over 690 Alzheimer’s drug discovery and biomarker programs as well as clinical trials in 19 countries.
