McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Craig Redmond as Chief Operating Officer at Direct Relief. In this role, Craig will be responsible for overseeing Direct Relief’s humanitarian programs, emergency response operations, and related functions, leading global teams delivering large-scale medical assistance across the U.S. and around the world. He will partner closely with the CEO to advance Direct Relief’s mission-driven strategy, strengthen operational effectiveness, and support the organization’s continued growth and impact amid an increasingly complex global humanitarian landscape. 

Craig is a seasoned humanitarian leader with more than 25 years of experience leading large-scale relief and development efforts across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Prior to joining Direct Relief, Craig served as Chief Executive Officer at Relief International, where he led a global team of more than 7,000 staff and volunteers delivering aid in conflict- and disaster-affected regions. Earlier in his career, he spent 22 years at Mercy Corps in senior leadership roles overseeing global operations and helping drive innovation across technology, financial inclusion, food security, and venture development. His experience also includes roles with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Development Programme, and service as a Peace Corps volunteer.
