McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Alex Coppersmith as Chief Financial Officer and Robert Jackson as Chief Operating Officer at Turf Star Western. In their respective roles, Alex will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to strengthen financial discipline, modernize systems and reporting infrastructure, and support scalable growth across the company’s multi-state footprint, while Robert will lead operational strategy across all locations, driving process improvement, performance accountability, and enterprise-wide alignment as the organization continues to expand across the West Coast.
Alex brings over 25 years of finance and executive leadership experience, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at Sterno Group, where he partnered with ownership to lead a $300M+ industrial manufacturing business and drove significant EBITDA growth through margin improvement initiatives, operational efficiencies, and disciplined cash management. Prior to that, he served as CFO at Fresh & Ready Foods and Bacchus Management Group, where he led financial transformations, strengthened internal controls, optimized working capital, and supported strategic transactions.
Robert brings over a decade of executive leadership experience across multi-site operations, most recently serving as Chief Aftermarket Officer and Vice President of Aftermarket at Stotz Equipment. In this role, he partnered with the CEO and executive team to align profit centers with strategic growth initiatives, participated in M&A due diligence and post-close integration, and implemented a new business system supported by real-time KPI dashboards to drive data-informed decision-making. Prior to that, he served as Director of Regional Operations where he held full P&L responsibility across six locations, driving significant revenue growth and profitability improvement through disciplined operational execution, leadership development, and customer-focused strategies.
