Dan O’Day
Partner, Executive Search
Dan serves as a Partner at McDermott + Bull Canada and is part of the Private Equity Practice, based in Vancouver, BC. He has over 20 years of search experience across a range of industries, including healthcare and life sciences, consumer goods, and food and beverage. Dan partners with private equity firms and their portfolio companies along with public and private companies to assist them in sourcing and engaging key executive talent nationwide.
Prior to his career in search, Dan held multiple roles in the commercial side of the life sciences industry and, in the early years of his search career, he built one of the nation’s largest life sciences and healthcare-focused search portfolios. He attributes his sustained success to a customer-first focus, based on clear communication and a relentless drive to remove inefficiency from the search process to deliver higher quality client outcomes.
Dan obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics and an EMBA from Simon Fraser University and is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC), having earned a certificate in organizational and executive coaching from the University of British Columbia. He’s a long-standing board member of an independent school and coaches community sports teams. An avid outdoors enthusiast and traveler, Dan often bikes and climbs hills with his wife of over two decades or explores local mountains in Northern Vancouver.
