McDermott + Bull has been engaged to lead the search for Health Research BC, Board Directors, seeking to place two distinguished board positions. This search will be led by McDermott + Bull Principal Alex Verdecchia and Search Consultant Alina Ivanets.

Health Research BC, as British Columbia’s dedicated health research agency, has positioned itself at the forefront of making BC an attractive hub for health researchers and associated funding. The agency builds talent through peer-reviewed Scholar, Research Trainee, and Health Professional-Investigator competitions. Leveraging partnerships and specialized programs, Health Research BC offers sustained funding to researchers mitigating the aftereffects of the pandemic. Additionally, the agency promotes broader regional research representation, backs Indigenous health researchers, and fosters opportunities at the nexus of academia and life science.

The Board of Directors (the “Board”) is responsible for supervising the delivery of the purpose and mandate of Health Research BC. The Board exercises its fiduciary responsibility in approving direction, providing oversight to the conduct of the business, supervising the CEO, and giving due consideration to all major issues affecting the business and affairs of the organization. Whether developing policy, making decisions, or providing oversight, the Board considers the legitimate interests of all stakeholders.
