McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Aaron Deer as the Chief Financial Officer at Columbia Bank – parent company Columbia Banking System, Inc. (NASDAQ: COLB). As a critical member of the executive team, Aaron will serve as a decision-making partner and will be charged with providing correlations from the bank’s strategy to its execution plan and its measurable goals. He will act as a focal point for the bank’s initiatives for performance improvement, driving the delivery and optimization of its financial performance targets through the operation of rigorous controls, remedial actions, and the provision of advice and guidance.

Aaron joins Columbia Bank following 13 years as Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at Piper Sandler. Prior to Piper Sandler, he covered regional and national banks for RBC Capital Markets. Aaron earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, and his MBA, International Business and M.A., International Relations from the George Washington University.
