Managing Director, executive search

Austin Mitchell serves as a Managing Director at McDermott + Bull, where he partners with private equity firms, public and private companies, and their operating teams to secure executive talent. Austin is known for his work across the Industrial Manufacturing, Essential Services, and Aerospace + Defense sectors, while also supporting clients in broader growth, operational, and private equity environments. He advises organizations through periods of scale, change, and investment, helping build leadership teams that drive performance, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.

With nearly a decade of experience in executive search, Austin has developed expertise across all facets of the search process, including research, recruiting, and client management. Prior to joining McDermott + Bull, he worked at a global search firm, where he specialized in technical and operational leadership roles within the construction and industrial sectors.

Austin received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Oregon. Committed to giving back to his community, he actively volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County.
