McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Jenique Jones as the Executive Director at WhyHunger. In her role, Jenique will guide the strategic direction of the organization and ensure its policies, culture, and practices align with WhyHunger’s mission to end hunger and ensure nutritious food as a basic human right.
Jenique, an accomplished non-profit leader in the hunger space, moves to WhyHunger from City Harvest, New York’s largest food rescue organization. At City Harvest, she served as Vice President of Program Operations + Policy, where she spearheaded food distribution, programs, and policy efforts. With a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, she has a proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives, empowering fundraising, and forging inspiring partnerships throughout her career. Jenique holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the State University of New York Empire State College and a Master of Public Administration from Marist College.
WhyHunger was founded in 1975 by the late Harry Chapin and radio DJ Bill Ayres. The organization provides crucial resources to support grassroots movements and fuel community solutions rooted in social, environmental, racial, and economic justice. Its dedication to ending hunger and advancing the human right to nutritious food has made it a vital player in the fight against food insecurity, both in the U.S. and worldwide.
