McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Shoichi (Sho) Omoto as Senior Vice President, Director of Information Security at Five Star Bank. In this role, Sho will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the bank’s information security program. Additionally, he will oversee enterprise-wide risk assessments, control validation, and threat assessment, ensuring the bank’s ongoing compliance with applicable federal and state security and privacy regulations.

Sho brings over 24 years of information security and technology experience within the banking industry. He joins Five Star from Pacific Premier Bank in Southern California, where he most recently led the bank’s information security governance, risk, and compliance. Previously, Sho held leadership positions developing and managing information security programs for both Opus Bank and Citibanamex. He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Los Angeles, and holds his certifications in information security management (CISM) and risk and information systems control (CRISC).
