McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Simon Kawitzky as Senior Vice President of Real Estate at Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA-GNY). In this role, Simon will lead the organization’s real estate development, facilities management, and asset management functions. Reporting directly to the President and CEO and serving on the executive leadership team, he will focus on expanding the housing and shelter development pipeline, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and maintaining high-quality standards across all VOA-GNY properties.

Simon brings more than 15 years of experience in affordable housing, urban planning, and public-private development. He most recently served as Vice President of Portfolio Planning & Project Development at the New York City Housing Authority, where he secured $5 billion in investments for the rehabilitation of over 12,500 units. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development and Jonathan Rose Companies. He holds a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College.
