McDermott + Bull has successfully placed Lynda Coffman as Chief Executive Officer at Women in Aviation International (WAI). In this role, Lynda will spearhead the business development and strategic direction of the 17,000-member nonprofit organization. Collaborating closely with the board of directors, Lynda will oversee the staff and manage daily operations, guiding WAI towards continued success and growth.
Lynda has over 30 years of leadership experience at United Airlines, where she most recently served as Vice President and President of United Ground Express, a subsidiary focused on airport operations. Through her experience, she has gained a wealth of knowledge in financial management, operational oversight, strategic planning, and talent retention. Lynda’s career is marked by her commitment to inspiring youth in aviation and aerospace, demonstrated through her active involvement in various leadership and sponsorship roles, particularly in initiatives promoting diversity. She has also contributed significantly as a board member for multiple private companies and nonprofit organizations, earning several awards for her influential work. Lynda holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Santa Clara University and a Master of Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
