McDermott + Bull has been engaged to lead the search for the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC)This search will be led by McDermott + Bull Principal Alex Verdecchia and Consultant Christiana Chan.

The Justice Institute of British Columbia is a distinguished public, post-secondary institution that provides education and training to those who’ll be there to support British Columbians and others around the world, when a life is at stake or when health, safety or property is in jeopardy. Through its six campuses across British Columbia, JIBC offers programs in Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Emergency Management, Paramedicine, Corrections and Community Safety, Leadership and Conflict resolution, and Social Justice.

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer, reporting directly to the Vice-President, Finance & Operations, plays a pivotal role in providing financial leadership and management at the Institute. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader, preferably with a background in the public sector, who brings expert knowledge, a proven track record in team motivation and development, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Additionally, the candidate must be a strategic thinker capable of translating, communicating, planning, and implementing JIBC’s strategic priorities into actionable responsibilities.
