IRVINE, California, April 12, 2018McDermott & Bull is pleased to announce the successful appointment of Scott Sorenson as Chief Technology Officer with Human Longevity, Inc. (HLI), a genomics-based health intelligence company.

This executive recruiting engagement was conducted by Craig Lipus, Partner; Garrett Lipus, Principal Consultant; and Tara Steven, Senior Recruiting Associate at McDermott & Bull.  According to Craig Lipus, “HLI has in Scott a true technology leader that will drive the product development and engineering priorities.  Adding Scott to an already impressive leadership team is key to HLI’s commercialization effort.”

Sorensen joins HLI from Ancestry, a leader in family history and consumer genomics products and services.  He began his career at Ancestry as Director of Engineering, and over his 16-year tenure, became the CTO.  In this role, he was responsible for developing the strategy and vision to transform the family history business into a genomics business and creating processes for engineers and scientists to collaborate and deliver solutions to clients effectively.  Prior to joining Ancestry, Sorenson founded a software-based company that he successfully sold.

Sorenson received his B.S. in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
