IRVINE, California, November 6, 2014 – McDermott & Bull Executive Search, a Southern California-based retained executive search firm, announced today the appointment of Mr. Matt Spooner as Director of the McDermott & Bull Executive Network (www.mbexec.net).
Mr. Spooner will be instrumental in executing a strategic business plan for the markets that the McDermott & Bull Executive Network currently serves, as well as for new markets targeted for geographic expansion. He will work closely and continue to build relationships with our valuable partners. Mr. Spooner will also be responsible for membership growth and creating programs that add value to our senior executive members, either aiding them in their transition or in their business.

Prior to joining McDermott & Bull, Mr. Spooner spent much of his career establishing relationships with influential contributors to various non-profit entities, whose markets he helped establish in Southern California. During his 15 years in Los Angeles, he worked in various capacities with American Jewish University, including supervising their Undergraduate Admissions operation and directing their Advancement Department. Shortly after relocating with his wife and daughter to Irvine in 2013, Mr. Spooner joined the Jewish National Fund at the Director level, where he oversaw fundraising activities in Rancho Palos Verdes, Long Beach, and the greater Orange County area.
An avid endurance athlete who has competed in several marathons, ultramarathons, and triathlons, Mr. Spooner is a proud member of the South Coast Roadrunners group. Additionally, he is involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, amongst other nonprofits. Mr. Spooner received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001.
