IRVINE, California, December 10, 2018 – Executive search firm McDermott & Bull has placed Robert Martin as the new President and CEO of Suntech International USA in Vista, CA. The successful appointment comes after an extensive nationwide search was conducted for a leader with deep expertise in the telematics space.
The executive search was conducted by Principal Consultant, Jake Vander Zanden; Justin Green, Recruiting Associate; and Rachel Terry, Researcher at McDermott & Bull. According to the search team’s lead, Jake Vander Zanden, “Rob was the ideal candidate to join Suntech as the head of their US business. In addition to having tremendous business development skills, Rob’s experience in the telematics space was invaluable.” As President and CEO of Suntech International USA, Martin will have overall responsibilities for all aspects of the US business, including commercializing new products and creating new revenue streams. His outstanding career in vehicle telematics, information technology and public safety emergency services made him the ideal choice to lead the global GPS tracker and telematics leader’s expansion into the US market.
Prior to joining Suntech, Martin held leadership positions at Octo Telematics North America, Octo Telematics SpA, and e-Copernicus. He is the former Executive Director for the National 9-1-1 Association (“NENA”) and Executive Director and Fellow of the National/International Academies of Emergency Dispatch.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from University of Utah and his Master of Professional Communication from Westminster College.
