Reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, the next Provost and Vice-President, Academic will serve as a pillar of the University’s senior leadership and ensure the efforts of all divisions are directed toward achieving the key goals of the University’s academic mission, strategic plan, and related institutional foundation plans. The Provost will continue to foster a culture that embraces innovation, promotes educational equity, and is student-focused.
This role presents the incumbent with a significant opportunity to drive meaningful, lasting change. By enhancing financial sustainability, optimizing academic programs, and fostering innovation, this role will significantly shape the VIU’s long-term trajectory, ensuring institutional resilience, academic excellence, and an outstanding student experience.
As the successful candidate, you have an earned Doctorate, a successful record of scholarly and teaching activity, and a track record of progressively responsible senior leadership in Academic Affairs administration at a well-respected post-secondary institution. You are an innovator and are known for your resilience, authenticity, empathy, and commitment to excellence. You will work to foster a vibrant and diverse community of students, faculty, and staff, enhancing relationships with alumni, parents, Indigenous and community leaders, and others closely associated with the university.
The targeted salary range for this role is $219,153.00 to $249,038.00. The hiring point is typically $219,153.00, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
