McDermott + Bull has been engaged to lead the search of Post-Secondary Employers’ Association’s Director, Benefits Coordination. This search will be led by McDermott + Bull Principal Alex Verdecchia and Senior Consultant + Head of Recruitment Brittany Stansfield.
The Post‐Secondary Employers’ Association (PSEA) was established by the provincial government to support in setting bargaining mandates consistent with its fiscal goals while providing employers with autonomy. The Public Sector Employers’ Council (PSEC) and Secretariat develop and implement these human resource and labour relations policies and practices across the public sector. PSEA is the employer bargaining agent for all public colleges, special‐purpose teaching universities, and institutes in British Columbia.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Negotiations, the Director of Benefits Coordination is primarily responsible for the strategic coordination, administration, and management of various benefit contracts and programs for PSEA’s member institutions. This role also entails acting as the principal liaison with the Benefits Coordination Committee, member institutions, benefit consultants, insurers, and other providers to ensure comprehensive coordination of benefits administration across the sector, in alignment with PSEA’s goals. Additionally, this position supports the governance framework and oversees plan sponsorship, purchasing power, standardization, and plan administration.
As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced benefits professional, preferably with experience in a public sector environment. You bring expert knowledge and experience in benefits coordination including disability management plans, and data collection and analysis related to benefits utilization and costs. You are proactive, able to work autonomously, and able to build relationships and garner trust and respect with a senior HR leaders in the sector. A postgraduate degree in business management, finance, accounting, human resources or equivalent is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $145,661-$171,366 depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
